WHAT
WE DO

CORE ACTIVITIES.

Melbourne Cat Rescue started as an idea to assist other community rescues with humanely rescuing stray, abandoned and unwell cats from the streets. While a noble idea at heart, our initial focus quickly bloomed into a full service rescue.

We have big dreams and lofty goals. You can stay up to date with what we are doing and where we are doing it here.

Recovery & Rescue

We provide a humane rescue and trapping service to stray, abandoned and unwell cats, not just for Melbourne Cat Rescue but for other community rescues within Victoria.

Surrenders & Rehoming

We understand that sometimes people may need to surrender their cats and we are here to help. We work hard to ensure that each cat is rehomed into a loving and safe environment.

Behavioural Rehabilitation

We provide a compassionate service of behavioural rehabilitation for cats who are scared of human contact. We use positive reinforcement techniques to help cats overcome their fear of being touched and learn to be comfortable with smooches and cuddles.

Foster & Adoption

You can foster or adopt cats that are looking for a loving home. All of our cats come from a variety of backgrounds and have been saved from unfortunate situations. We make it easy for you to foster or adopt a cat and provide support throughout the process.

Medical Care & Treatment

We ensure cats in our care receive comprehensive medical care, including urgent treatment for injuries and illnesses, as well as any necessary surgical needs.

Feline Welfare Advocacy

We are passionate advocates for the welfare of cats in Victoria. We work to promote positive change and ensure the safety and well-being of cats in our community and beyond.

ROADMAP & EPICS.

LAST LITTER PROGRAM

A Last Litter program enables us to assist the community with desexing domestic breeding females and rehoming the kittens safely and responsibly, at no cost to the owner

DEDICATED KITTEN & NENONATE NURSERY

A dedicated kitten and neonate nursery involves building a "baby proof" space for young cats with dedicated critical care resources for neonates

FOSTER PROGRAM EXPANSION

Expanding our foster network requires we have surplus equipment and care items on hand to allow us to take on additional cats

DEDICATED QUARANTINE FACILITY

A dedicated quarantine facility will allow us to assess the health and temperament of new cats in care while keeping them and existing cats in our care safe from disease and illness
